The Nowhere Chronicles

A Trilogy of Evolving One’s Consciousness

Moments of transition and moments of revelation give birth to a journey—a journey of self-discovery, one in which we develop a profound sense of awareness. It is a journey from a deep sense of self-loathing to one of self-love.

We are born in confusion and carry this with us until a tipping point is reached, where we can no longer continue with the same, worn-out ideas and beliefs. Once on the tracks of this journey, it’s impossible to return to the old ways, old ways which pressured us to be the same as everyone else, where any individuality we have is suppressed.

When we are young, we gradually adopt other people’s beliefs about ourselves. It’s only after we gain a level of awareness that we realise the person we are is subsumed by a series of walls and masks, put there by us, to protect who we truly are.

We need this protection because the opinions of our parents, teachers, colleagues, and society explicitly override our innate qualities. It’s not nice to be rejected by the people around us. We all have a need to be loved, accepted, and supported in being the best version of ourselves.

The beliefs we hold about being wrong and inept can significantly impact our lives unless we choose to challenge those internal perceptions. Sometimes, a tipping point arises where we can no longer stay ignorant of who we truly are.

For me, 1994 was one such tipping point. This trilogy takes place in that year and the years that follow. My experiences shunted me into a different set of sidings, with a series of episodes where I had to face my fears, as well as my opinions of myself, and the opinions of others.

Written originally as a diary of my experiences and the spiritual knowledge that came from them, it became something greater—a resource to which I could turn should I need a reminder of how far I’ve grown into the true me.

I have now chosen to publish the trilogy so you, the reader, can gain something from my words. It’s a story about finding myself. An overused trope, perhaps, but we are all lost at some point in our lives, trying hard to navigate a society uninterested in who we are. We just have to realise that we’re lost and, therefore, work towards an understanding of ourselves, breaking out of the chrysalis to become the butterfly we are always meant to be.

Do we ever meet the person we really are?

I know now that I have.

Change only happens if you're willing

Book 1: A Journey to Nowhere

Moments of Revelation & Moments of Transition

1994 was the year everything changed. Before then, all I carried was pain, confusion and was told by many that I had to accept their idiosyncrasies, but they didn’t have to accept mine. 1994 fostered the realisation that change was indeed necessary.

It became impossible to return to the person I was, as there exists no turntable on these tracks. The unexpected transitions and revelations prompted a metamorphosis of the type that reached down and heaved memories, experiences and emotions from my subconscious centre and exposed them to my conscious self.

The maze I navigated contained multiple dead ends before I found the centre, which I thought had the answers I was seeking. It didn’t, but merely reminded me of the amount of inner work still to be done. I could no longer avoid being honest with myself, as honesty is a fundamental part of growing into a new person.

Climbing the walls of the abyss, I made a discovery of a lifetime.

Book 2: Surrendering to My Fears

Moments of Surrender & Moments of Fear

The Universe lovingly offers opportunities for me to confront my fears and the beliefs I had about myself, and learn to accept what is.

Fear is the common theme, moments where I could not bring myself to walk calmly into the fire of the Phoenix, as fear’s hold upon me is just far too painful. We cannot escape the monster called Fear. Turning to face it is our only solution. And when you do choose to face the fear, you find it far smaller than you expected.

I face a mountain of fear and past events, treading on eggshells to reach new heights of understanding that were previously impossible.

It takes a curious animal to show me the true meaning of unconditional love and compassion that I need to show myself. If one has not been shown love and compassion, how can one learn to show that to others?

Facing one’s inner daemon is mystifying and confusing, particularly when it was I who put them in chains and a straitjacket. Seeing the result of one’s past actions is challenging.

Book 3: Discovering My True Self

Moments of Discovery & Moments of Self

We are shaped by our past, sculpted by those around us, and influenced by the experiences we encounter.

I had to experience both sides of the same equation; the yin-yang. Only then could I begin to walk in another’s shoes, to see them as a fearful person haunted by the experiences of their past. The compassion and kindness I have always had within me needed to be expressed.

Being pulled down into the waters of emotion and trapped in a glass box built by others, I had to find ways to convey the spiritual knowledge I had gained to another who was still trapped by their own beliefs.

I discover a wiser part of myself who had been waiting patiently for me to acknowledge their existence, hoping I would finally give them the oxygen of visibility. Accepting the hidden is a vital step towards reintegration. The hurt parts of us need love and compassion.

Reader's Reviews

A beautifully poetic and spiritual journey that reaches deep into the heart and soul. Set in the far reaches of Coran’s consciousness, she brings to life her pain, compassion and struggles. Although deeply personal to her, the words are woven in a way that speaks to every one of us. As the books progress, she brings to the surface wisdom, powerful insights and philosophical musings. Each book has many layers creating a story, a spiritual quest, and a powerful time of reckoning, all rolled into one. Highly recommended. Sarah G

An illuminating and moving account of a journey of self-discovery. Beautifully written and inspirational. Pam

Coran Foddering’s trilogy is so incredibly powerful that it literally feels as if it is alive with a force that means that when you read it, shifts happen in your life. I have been speechless at synchronicities that appeared in my life in parallel with Coran’s words. This trilogy is so clever as it is written in a way that everybody can relate to and find something relevant for their own journey. I highly recommend this book, which is truly about the human drama of evolving our consciousness, becoming the master of our own destiny, and becoming the best version we can be. This trilogy oozes high levels of compassion, and you will feel it right into your bones! Suzanne M

The content of each newsletter will be distinctly different, highlighting aspects of the Trilogy by selecting a quote or a paragraph to discuss the material within in greater detail. I also have a number of images I created for the Trilogy, as well as some that predate the writing, which will also be explained. Some may be quite challenging to see. Sometimes, the creative process is driven by both challenging experiences and other influences.

I will also reference some articles from the A Way of Seeing website, particularly the Spiral of Liberation, as these have a significant impact as well. As always, I will write as inspiration strikes.
